Little Curlew

The bird shown above was photographed by Frank O'Connor in a paddock on the northern side of the Bootine Road Nature Reserve north west of Gingin on Saturday 4th October 2003 on a Birds Australia WA (Inc) excursion led by John & Judy Blyth.

It was identified as a Little Curlew which is rarely recorded in the south of Western Australia.
